This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It can take in large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do, and it can even clean up pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush however, iRobot says that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning.
