It has a large dust bin as well as a long-lasting battery. The app lets you schedule daily cleanings or select a particular room. You can also create a map of your home to allow the device to stay clear of areas you don't want it visit.

The app is simple to use and has a clear layout. It doesn't have any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and makes it easy to monitor the status of your robot. It comes with a tutorial that will guide you through the basics.

Its cleaning patterns don't always appear logical - sometimes it is straight lines, other times it focuses on the edges of the room - however, Bounce Navigation ensures your entire floor gets cleaned. It's not the best at negotiating obstacles though. It struggled to get underneath our piano pedals and pet food bowls, and got caught in our 2.25-inch shag rug multiple times.

We believe there are better robot vacuums available than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better-built, easier to maintain, has lower recurring costs and takes less time to charge. It also has a larger dustbin and is more effective on all surface types, and it can climb over low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The RoboVac 11S, which is eufy, is an excellent choice for everyday vacuuming. It's designed in a similar way to our top pick, and is excellent in removing fine dirt and larger debris on hard floors. It also does a decent job on medium and low-pile carpet. Similar to the Roomba from iRobot Roomba it also has a very large dirt compartment and utilizes BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It has an easy-to-use remote control and you can schedule daily cleanings using the app. The battery can last for around an hour and the dustbin is able to be empty without taking it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a great robot vacuum and mop with a surprising array of automation features. It comes in three options including the standard S7, the S7 MaxV Plus, and the S7 MaxV Ultra. Only the latter has an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks let the robot return to its base following cleaning, empty the collected debris into a dust collection bag or reservoir, drain its clogged water tank and clean its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work together to avoid obstacles and clean the floors. It can recognize flooring types and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even detect dirt levels. It can also plan and conduct spot cleaning sessions. It did well in standard tests, however it could not match the iRobot Roomba j7+ during the carpet deep cleaning test.

You can program the S7 by using the companion app to run a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. You can specify a time either day or week and select from several cleaning modes, such as automatic, eco, and deep clean. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if its power runs out or when it comes across an obstruction.

If you don't have a smartphone however, you can still utilize the S7 by connecting a remote control to its charging dock. The controls can be difficult initially, but they work well once you get used to them. The power button acts as a 'Cleaning' button, and the Spot Clean button directs the robot to clean an area around it. The "Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

In addition to the new mapping capabilities, Roborock improved its mobile app, adding live view that lets you check out what the S7 is doing at home. You can enable this feature by pressing a particular sequence of buttons on the S7 and creating an unlock pattern within the app to use at any time you want to see what the robot is doing.

3. Shark IQ Large

Shark's robot vacuums aren't as a hit than those from iRobot or Roborock. However, our tests on the ground have proven that Shark's model is among the most effective self-emptying robot vacuum and mop vacuums on the market. If you must empty it, all you need to do is remove the side bin, place it up to a trash can, and press a button to eject the contents.

There's not much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less well-built than the Roomba 694. It clears many messes on carpeted floors and does a good job at maneuvering itself however it isn't even close to the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of performance on carpeted floors. The i7 also feels more robust, more durable, requires less maintenance, incurs lower recurring cost and charges more quickly, and offers comparable battery performance. 4. iRobot J7+

It's simple to set an appointment for cleaning and change the way that the j7+ operates when its dust canister is full. The j7+ can be controlled with voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) for a hands-free approach and the app allows you to create and explore maps of your home.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ performed well on both hard and carpeted floors, cleaning most of the dirt we threw at it. It isn't the best at dealing with pet hair as well as large debris like sand, but it can remove these items with a little more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that keep it from falling down stairs or getting stuck on furniture legs.

We did find a few minor niggles with the j7+. These include that it can snag on cords and carpets, and it doesn't always shut off its mopping when finished vacuuming. In all other respects, it's an excellent model that ticks all the right boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the most efficient auto-emptying systems we've ever tested. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister in the base station, and it automatically emptys itself. This reduces the amount of garbage you have to get rid of. You'll only need to replace the bag at the dock every 60 days, based on how often you use the J7+.
