The two railroads joined together to form CPKC. 7,300 miles of KCS and 15,000 miles of CP lines were combined to create a single freight route that runs north-south across the continent. This is the largest merger ever in the history of railroads. CPKC is headquartered in Kansas City. The final spike was driven during a trackside celebration in Kansas City on April 14 2023.

Branches

The KCSR is a large corporation with multiple branches. This includes the Belton, Grandview and Kansas City Railroad and the Arkansas Western Railway Company; the Fort Smith & Van Buren Railway Company; the Glenn Pool Tank Line Railroad Company as well as the Texarkana & Gulf Terminal Railroad Company as well as the Joplin Union Depot Company and the Kansas City Terminal Railway Company.
